Ethics
The brand “Eternilederm” contributes to the defense and conservation of crocodiles projects by morally supporting an NGO named CSG (Crocodile Specialist Group) which was created in 1971 and which coordinates a worldwide network of biologists, wildlife managers, government officials, and researchers, strongly involved in the conservation of the 23 living species in the world of alligators, crocodiles and caimans. The CSG works closely with the CITES Convention, the Convention for the International Trade in Endangered Wild Fauna and Flora Species, and with other international intergovernmental bodies to promote the conservation of crocodiles, and to promote a legal trade that does not threaten the survival of these important reptiles. The key to this success in species conservation and the active limitation of illegal trade lies mainly in CSG’s excellent cooperation with companies involved in the international trade in leather and reptile skins, including farmers and ranchers of crocodiles. The latter have been specially created to ensure the conservation of wild species highly threatened by poaching. The CSG has, for these farms, enacted rules of good practice for crocodile farming (CSG-BMP) “Best Management Practices for crocodilian farming”, which, with five basic aspects, ensure the well-being of crocodiles.
The South African farm with which “Eternilederm” works, respects the rules (CSG-BMP) and is subjected on the one hand to the strict control of the breeding by the Ministry of Agriculture and on the other hand to 3 random visits by NSPCA (National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to verify the application of these good practices an thus the well-being of crocodiles. This is a farm in Africa that respects the quality of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) standards for its crocodile meat. We have the capability to recover the fatty tissues of this meat that we transform into oil in an SABS approved laboratory using a natural physical process without the addition of any product. We believe in the power of nature to heal and rejuvenate the skin, and we are committed to preserving the environment and its creatures. That’s why we never kill crocodiles for our skin products. We source the crocodile oil that is used in our products as a by-product of the farming industry, which is regulated by strict guidelines to ensure that no harm is inflicted on these magnificent animals.
